The Rooted Co-op

FAQs

What ages can participate?

You must have at least one child over the age of 5 in order to attend co-op! As long as one of your children meets the minimum age, we offer nursery classes for younger siblings!

Am I required to teach every semester?

We are a parent led co-op, and rely on parents to lead classes each semester! However, if you're in a special season of life (pregnant, nursing, overrun with littles) an exception may be made during some semesters to allow you a break. This is not an exception that could be made each semester, as we need everyone contributing in order for co-op to function in a healthy manner.

Do I have to come up with curriculum?

Yes and no! If you're leading a class we want it to be something you're passionate about, and you will be required to submit class plans. That being said, there are lots of mommas involved that have taught before and can help you build out your class plans/come up with ideas! It's not as scary as it may seem, we promise!

Do I have to be a Christian to join?

We are a Christian co-op! However, as long as you agree to abide by our Statement of Faith while participating in co-op you are welcome to join us!

How much does it cost?

Spring 2026 FEES:

  1. Annual Fee: $50 (This is a one time yearly fee to cover all administrative costs. If your family is joining in the Spring, you will pay this fee again in the Fall for the following school year.)

  2. Background Check Fee of $65.50

  3. Supply Fee of $25 per child ages 4+ (This fee is due for each child participating each semester. This fee covers all supplies needed for the classes.)

  4. Supply Fee of $15 per child ages 2-3 (This fee is due for each child participating each semester. This fee covers all snacks and supplies needed for the classes.)

Can we try it out before committing?

No. For the safety of all of our families, and to maintain the smooth flow of classes we only allow current members to participate in co-op. You are welcome to join us for a park day to hang out and get to know other families!

How long does co-op last?

We have a 10 week semester in the Fall and Spring!

Fall semester runs from September to November

Spring semester runs from February to May, with a one week break for spring break

Can I drop my child off?

We are not a drop-and-go co-op. A parent must be onsite and participating in classes in order for their child to participate.

What kind of classes do you offer?

Since we are parent led, our classes vary from semester to semester. Our primary goal is to offer fun, engaging classes that the children will love! A few of the classes we've offered in the past include:

  • PE
  • Sewing
  • Art
  • Cooking/Baking
  • Animals/Homesteading
  • Escape Rooms
  • Spanish
